Job Summary
The Manager – Travel Centre is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the travel centre, ensuring smooth business operations, excellent customer service, staff supervision, inventory control, financial performance, and compliance with company policies and safety standards. The Manager plays a key role in maintaining service quality, operational efficiency, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations of the travel centre
Ensure smooth functioning of fuel station, convenience store, food service (if applicable), and rest facilities
Monitor workflow and resolve operational issues promptly
Staff Management
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff performance
Assign duties and ensure staff follow company policies and procedures
Maintain a positive and productive work environment
Customer Service
Ensure high standards of customer service and handle customer complaints professionally
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall customer experience at the travel centre
Inventory & Supply Management
Oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships
Monitor stock usage, minimize losses, and control shrinkage
Financial Management
Prepare and manage budgets, daily sales reports, and expense tracking
Monitor cash handling, deposits, and POS systems
Analyze sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Implement workplace safety procedures and emergency protocols
Maintain records required by regulatory authorities
Reporting & Administration
Prepare operational reports and submit to ownership/management
Maintain employee records, schedules, and operational documentation
Requirements
Completion of secondary school (post-secondary education preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
Knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and basic accounting
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
